The 2020/2021 football season is over, but there’s a lot of football for fans to look forward to this summer, with two major international tournaments taking place.
One of the two major tournaments taking place this summer is the Euro 2020, and it promises to be a festival of football across Europe for one month.
The tournament was initially scheduled for last year but was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic, which stalled all activities worldwide.
This is the 16th edition of the quadrennial competition, and it will feature star names like Cristiano Ronaldo, Kylian Mbappe and Romelu Lukaku, who could all battle it out for the golden boot.
There are some amazing odds for all the games, but one of the picks fans should consider is backing Harry Kane to finish as the competition’s top scorer.
The England international won the golden boot in his last major competition at the 2018 World Cup. Kane scored six goals at the showpiece in Russia three years ago to end up as the top scorer, and it’s only logical to back him again now.
In fact, he has gotten better since and also at the peak of his career. The 27-year-old finished as the joint top scorer in the English Premier League with 22 goals.
Although Ronaldo could also challenge for the golden boot, having finished second with three goals at Euro 2016, Portugal’s group of death makes it more difficult for him.
The defending champions have been drawn against France, Germany and Hungary, and that reduces Ronaldo’s chances. In contrast, England face Croatia, Czech Republic and Scotland, who are all opponents Kane would relish facing.
In addition, the three Lions play all their group games at Wembley with their fans backing them-although not full capacity. Nonetheless, this gives the England team an edge in which Kane is the focal point.
There are several strikers that could end up with the golden boot at Euro 2020, but Kane is the pick of the bunch.
