Enyimba forward, Omoyele Tosin will miss the final game of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season against Dakkaka FC on Thursday.
The week 38 encounter will see the Aba Elephants go up against Rivers United, Kano Pillars, Kwara United and Nasarawa United for the second CAF Champions League qualifying spot or Confederation Cup slot.
Akwa United won the NPFL for the first time in their 24-year history last weekend with a 5-2 victory over MFM and were rewarded with an automatic Champions League qualification with Enyimba needing a victory away from home against Dakkaka FC to pick the other spot and hope their rivals fail to win.
Omoleye will miss the encounter at the beautiful Godswill Akpabio International Stadium due to a toe injury that he picked up during the 1-1 draw against Sunshine Stars in Aba which saw him play just 15 minutes of the game and that has left him frustrated.
He said: ‘I’m not happy missing the final game of the season because I know how crucial it will be for the team. It was unfortunate that we didn’t close the gap in our last game but we hope the results on the final day favours us.
‘I believe the team is ready for the task ahead because we all know what it is worth to play continental football.’
Enyimba currently occupies the fifth position on the NPFL log with 63 points while Dakkaka are safe in tenth place with 50 points. However, the major roadblocks for the Aba Elephants are Nasarawa in second spot with 65points, Kano Pillars in third with 64 points and Rivers United in fourth with 63 points.
