Emmanuel Dennis marked his premier league debut with a goal and the Man-of-the-Match award as he helped Watford battle to a brave 3-2 victory over Aston Villa yesterday afternoon.
The 23-year-old, who played on loan at FC Cologne last season moved to the premier league on a five-year deal as he joined compatriots Oghenekaro Etebo and Williams Ekong – the trio started against Aston Villa.
Dennis sent fans at Vicarage Road dancing when he finished off a fine flowing move in the 10th minute and turned provider for Senegalese star Ismaila Sarr to make it 2-0 just before half-time.
It was a dream start for the Hornets and they made it even more exciting for fans as substitute Juan Hernández made it 3-0. However, Villa fought back with two goals from McGinn and Danny Ings to make it 3-2 and ensure a nervy finish to the match.
There was no place in the Watford squad for Isaac Success but Etebo who like Dennis made his premier league debut played for 86 minutes while Ekong was involved for 90minutes.
