Manchester United have finally pulled the plug on manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, after relieving the Norwegian of his duty on mutual consent. Former midfielder, Michael Carrick will take over on an interim basis. Here ABZ looks at the possible options for the Red Devils.
Ralf Rangnick | The former RB Leipzig manager has been linked to the Manchester United job, and according to reports, the German has agreed to coach the team if offered the job. He has won a few titles in his career, but his biggest exploit was with Leipzig, helping the relatively new side to play constant Champions League football.
Erik ten Hag | The Dutchman has been one of the most impressive managers in modern football with a solid record with Ajax. He led the Eredivisie champions to the Champions League semifinal. In 185 games in charge of the club, they have won 135 matches, with a 72.97 win percentage, scoring 504 goals. He is definitely an ideal manager for United.
Brendan Rogers | The Leicester City manager is also a contender for the job at Old Trafford, following his successful stint with the Foxes, leading them to the FA Cup and the Community Shield, but the current form of the 2015/2016 Premier League champions could be a hindrance to his chances.
Mauricio Pochettino | The former Tottenham Hotspur manager has been a contender for the Spurs job since his days with Spurs, but now he is with Paris Saint-Germain, and getting him in to join Manchester United will be a difficult task, but in football, anything can happen.
Zinedine Zidane | The Frenchman is the number one option for Manchester United, even though he has rejected the job at Old Trafford. His 3 UEFA Champions League success with Real Madrid makes him the number one choice, but it is yet to see if he will change his mind about taking over the Red Devils.
