Nigeria’s Super Eagles will be out for revenge when they take on the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon at the Stadion Wiener Neustadt in Austria on Tuesday by 5pm (Nigeria Time).
The Nigerians lost to the same opponents on Friday by a lone goal from Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa and will look to correct their mistakes and reestablish their recent dominance on the Cameroon team.
Nigeria dominated Friday’s friendly with many shots on goal and seeing much more of the ball yet failed to convert any of their chances.
Cameroon, on the other hand, scored the only goal of the game with their only shot on target seven minutes before half-time, so Super Eagles fans can conclude that things could be different if luck sides with them on Tuesday.
Several players in the senior team of the Super Eagles were ruled out of the friendly games including Victor Osimhen. Team captain, William Troost-Ekong, who limped off in Friday’s loss to Cameroon, and left-back Jamilu Collins have also been ruled out of the second friendly on Tuesday.
Ujpest star Vincent Onovo could make his international debut for Nigeria after he was called up to replace the injured William Troost-Ekong for the clash.
Rohr has hinted at a change in formation for the upcoming second friendly match against Cameroon. “It’s an opportunity to play with three defenders and to change the system a little bit, to try something different. That’s why we’re happy to have this second game.”
