Bruno misses penalty as Man Utd slump to first PL defeat

Bruno Fernandes missed a penalty as Manchester United slumped to a first Premier League defeat of the season to Aston Villa.

Inside a packed Old Trafford, Villa showed no fear matching up against the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Raphael Varane and Paul Pogba.

The first half ended goalless as both sides failed to find the back of the net. But the game opened up in the second half as both sides looked to cease initiative of the encounter.

Red Devils goalie pulled off a fantastic save to prevent Ollie Watkins from giving the away side the lead and at the other end, Mason Greenwood was wasteful with the chances that felt to him.

The home crowd was stunned when center back Kortney Hause headed a corner past de Gea late in the game to give Villa a shock lead. However, Manchester United got a penalty at the other end when Hause stopped Edinson Cavani’s header with his hand. Bruno stepped up for the penalty and blazed his effort over the bar.

Aston Villa ran out 1-0 winners but for United the defeat came with more problems as Captain Harry Maguire and left back Luke Shaw went of injure.

United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be hoping both players are fit for the UEFA Champions League game against Villarreal in midweek.
