Brazil forward, Richarlison, who is the top scorer in men’s football at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games went viral, after mocking FIFA President, Gianni Infantino.
Brazil defeated Spain 2-1 after extra time in the men’s football final at the same venue they won their last World Cup 19 years ago, but it was Richarlison who made the headlines for referring to Infantino as ‘baldie’ during the medals ceremony.
Brazil broke the deadlock just on the stroke of half-time through Matheus Cunha. Mikel Oyarzabal equalised for Spain in the second half.
Substitute, Malcolm was the hero after an excellent winner in extra-time earned another Olympic gold medal for the Selecao following their maiden triumph five years ago.
Instead of celebration scenes, it was a short clip involving Richarlison which has been shared a thousand times on social media, where the Everton forward could be heard under his mask telling the FIFA president in Portuguese: “Next year it will be in Qatar, baldie.”
This has generated mixed reactions from football fans. While some believe it’s all jokes, others think it’s disrespect to Gianni Infantino.
