Renowned Italian sports pundit, Paolo Bargiggia has likened Super Eagles forward, Victor Osimhen to former World Player of the Year, George Weah and declared that Serie A is yet to see the best of the Nigerian.
The 22-year-old made a club record move to the Azzurri last summer but has failed to set the league on fire with goals, having scored just three times in 18 appearances for Gennaro Gattuso’s side.
“Victor Osimhen? We know 30-40% of this boy, who stayed away from the pitch due to injuries. The former Lille striker has a bit of a panther style that can somehow recall those of the great George Weah, former AC Milan. The real Osimhen, trust us, we haven’t yet seen,” he was quoted as saying by areanapoli.it.
Osimhen has been plagued by injuries and health challenges since he joined Napoli from Lille. But he will be hoping for a first start against AS Roma on Sunday following his return to action after collapsing during the game against Atalanta in late February.
