Manchester United have been dealt a huge blow ahead of their Premier League encounter against Leicester City this weekend.
The Red Devils will be without the services of their summer signing Raphael Varane after he picked up an injury on international duty.
Varane walked off midway through the first half of France’s UEFA Nations League final against Spain at the San Siro Stadium on Sunday night.
The 28-year-old, who joined United from Real Madrid in the summer, walked off with a suspected injury. The Red Devils have now confirmed the France will be out for a few weeks.
A statement on the club website read: “Raphael Varane sustained a groin muscle injury in the UEFA Nations League final and has commenced rehabilitation at the club.”
“He will be out for a few weeks.”
Varane’s injury is a blow for Man Utd ahead of a tough run of fixtures. The Red Devils are already without the services of Harry Maguire, who picked up an injury in the clash against Aston Villa.
