Arsenal, Man United cruise into Europa League semifinals

Arsenal redeemed themselves from a lackluster first leg to hammer Slavia Praha 4-0 and qualify for the semifinals of the Europa League alongside Manchester United who knocked out La Liga representatives Granada.

The Gunners played out a 1-1 draw against Slavia Praha at the Emirates with the visitors getting a late equalizer in that encounter. However, two goals from Alexandre Lacazette and one each from Nicolas Pepe and Bukayo Saka sealed a 5-1 aggregate win.

At Old Trafford, Edinson Cavani settled nerves as he gave Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side an early lead before a late own goal sealed the deal for the Red Devils as they qualified on a 4-0 aggregate win.

In Rome, Edin Dzeko cancelled out the Brian Brobbey chip, allowing Roma to draw 1-1 with Ajax, winning 3-2 on aggregate to book a Europa League semi-final berth and will now meet Manchester United.

Arsenal will battle it out against former manager Unai Emery in the semifinals after he guided Samuel Chukwueze and his Villarreal teammates into the last four courtesy a 2-1 aggregate win over Dinamo Zagreb.
