The Cinderella run continues for NNL side, Bayelsa united after they defeated Rivers United 1-0 in Aiteo cup the semi-final game played at the Agege stadium, Lagos.
Okardi Inikurogha’s second half scorcher sends the NNL side into the Aiteo Cup final at the expense of the Pride of Rivers.
Rivers United got a penalty immediately after conceding. but it was wasted by Bamba who placed a weak shot that was saved by Bayelsa Utd goalkeeper, John Shuaibu.
This is the second season in a roll that Rivers United will be losing at the same stadium and same stage of the Aiteo Cup.
In the other semi final game played at the Ozoro stadium in Delta state, Nasarawa United defeated Sunshine stars 6-5 on penalties.
Chinedu Ohanachom was hacked down by Kehinde Adeyemi and Silas Nwankow converted the penalty for Nasarawa United’s first goal.
Sunshine stars came back into the game after Fuad Ekelojuoti fired into the bottom right to draw level.

The game ended 2-2 after Adeniji headed home off the frame to draw Sunshine level at the death and send the game to sudden death.
The first five penalty kicks were converted before Sunshine missed the sixth, allowing Nasarawa to convert and win the game.
The final is slated for the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium Benin, on August 8th.
