Ahmed Musa stars on his first match in second stint with Kano Pillars

The Super Eagles captain made his first appearance since returning to the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) and he could not have hoped for a better start

Ahmed Musa made his first start in his second spell in the NPFL and he showed his quality to help Kano Pillars to a 1-0 win over Adamawa United.

Musa joined Sai Masu Gida on a temporary deal till the end of the season, but missed the trip to Warri Wolves last weekend.

However, he was named in the starting lineup on Sunday and even received the armband from Rabiu Ali just before kickoff.

Pillars dominated the game and should’ve taken the lead in the 70th minute after they were awarded a penalty. But Ali missed the resulting spot-kick.

However, ten minutes later, Musa came to the rescue as he set up Ali, who made amends for his earlier miss to fire home the winner.

The win takes Pillars to second position, levelled on points with Akwa United in first place.
