Little known Nigerian youngster, Ademipo Odubeko was in brilliant form on Friday night as he helped West Ham United beat Manchester United 3-2 in an U-23 game.
The Red Devils were stronger in the early stages of the match and took a deserved first half lead courtesy Mark Helm and Anthony Elanga made it 2-0 in the second half.
But Ademipo began a remarkable comeback for the visitors when he reduced the deficit against his former side. The Nigerian, who is also eligible to play for Ireland by virtue of his birth place scored two more goals to hand the U-23 Hammers a shock 3-2 away win.
Both Manchester United and West Ham U-23 wore black armbands and observed two minutes’ silence before kick-off in a show of respect to Prince Philip, who passed away earlier today, aged 99.
