Clubless Nigerian midfielder, John Ogu has singled out Kelechi Iheanacho for special praise following his exploits at the ongoing 33rd Africa Cup of Nation (AFCON).
Iheanacho has a goal and assist so far as the Super Eagles progressed into the round of 16. The Leicester City forward was dropped from the squad that won bronze at the 2019 edition of the AFCON.
However, Iheanacho has put all that disappoint behind him and has been one of the leading lights for Nigeria in Cameroon.

Ogu tweeted: “One person I’m most proud of is Kelechi Ihenacho. I remember the last AFCON he was dropped. He was crying so hard and didn’t want to really talk to anyone. I’m so happy for him.”

Nigeria has won the Africa Cup of Nations three times and will be hoping Iheanacho inspires them to a fourth title.
