Ahead of the 33rd Africa Cup of Nations, Super Eagles Captain Ahmed Musa has made a firm promise to Nigerians as the team departed for Cameroon.
The three-time African champions who had a sendforth dinner with the Minister of Sports, Sunday Dare on Tuesday before their travel on Wednesday night were addressed by the Nigerian Football Federations (NFF), General Secretary, Mohamed Sanusi on behalf of the NFF President, Amaju Pinnick before departure.
“I have been asked by the NFF president, Amaju Pinnick to come and see you off. He is wishing you goodluck and Nigeria is solidly behind you,” he informed. “We know how responsible and professional you are and we want you to carry that to Cameroon and on our own part, we’ll do everything humanly possible to meet all your obligations.”
Reacting to Sanusi, Super Eagles Captain, Musa said: “We are going to Cameroon to make Nigeria and our families proud. I know that we can do it and insha’allah we are coming back to Nigeria with victory.”
Nigeria will play in Group D alongside Egypt, Sudan and Guinea-Bissau with the three-time African champions scheduled to face the Pharaohs on January 11 at the Stade Omnisport de Garoua.
